From 86b30afea07d64328a0d90caeabfa6a3d993d042 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Martin Tournoij Date: Wed, 25 Mar 2026 06:02:32 +0000 Subject: [PATCH] DOCS/man/options: clarify --directory-filter-types docs MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Using "mpv --directory-filter-types= dir" as an "empty" value doesn't work, because that will create a list where the first value is an empty string, so get_directory_filter() returns AUTO_NONE instead of AUTO_ANY. You need to use --directory-filter-types-clr instead, to create a proper empty list. I suppose this is kind of obvious in hindsight, but it took me quite some time and digging through the mpv source to figure this out – initially I assumed it must be a bug of some sort. So clarify what "empty list" means. --- DOCS/man/options.rst | 6 +++--- 1 file changed, 3 insertions(+), 3 deletions(-) diff --git a/DOCS/man/options.rst b/DOCS/man/options.rst index 2393cd552a..4ce543a18d 100644 --- a/DOCS/man/options.rst +++ b/DOCS/man/options.rst @@ -4377,9 +4377,9 @@ Demuxer ``--shuffle``, and like ``lazy`` otherwise. ``--directory-filter-types=`` - Media file types to filter when opening directory.
